From Jamaica to Berlin: We have the honour to bring you the legendary Orville Hall aka Orville Xpressionz
Orville is also known as the dancehall professor is considered one of the most knowledgeable person on dancehall dance in Jamaica, he has been a professional dancer for 30 years, He was the dancehall teacher at the Exed community college for 11yrs where he also obtained his associate degree in performing arts.
He is very instrumental in the development of where dancehall dance is today locally and internationally. Orville Hall was the choreographer for the dances that were a part Jamaica’s 1998 world cup campaign; he started the 1st dancehall dance studio in Jamaica. He wrote the 1st dancehall course outline to be taught in schools and is the artistic director for the longest standing dance group in Jamaica Dance Xpressionz.
His specialty is in Foundation and Middle school dancehall, Mr. Hall also does full lectures on the evolution of the Jamaican music and dance. He has toured Europe extensively between 2012 to 2016 and South America from 2016 to present.
The Summer Intensive
The week focuses on foundation dancehall; students should have a clear understanding of what dancehall is. The classes will teach technique also Understanding the principles of dancehall and the areas of the body that is in use. The students will also learn the difference between routine, choreography and attitude.
The week is both for beginners and also more advanced dancers.
