This course is aimed at curious and open dancers, as well as actors, performers and athletes. Using improvisation techniques and exercises from contemporary dance, this class creates space for each participant to examine their own movement patterns from different perspectives.
The goal of improvisation, exploration, and research is to give you the tools to break your default movement patterns and enable you to move more freely. The emphasis will vary from class to class and, in addition to group and partner exercises, a movement sequence may be included in the lesson to better understand the area in focus.
This class is accompanied by music and starts with a warm-up and ends with a cool down.
If the class description above doesn't say otherwise, all of our classes are open drop in classes. That means you don't need to register for this class in advance. Just be at the studio about 15 minutes prior to the start time and sign in for the class at the front desk. More questions you might have you'll find answers to in our FAQ.
