Tatjana Mahlke is a freelance dancer, choreographer and dance teacher from Berlin. She first discovered her passion for dance through hip hop culture and later for contemporary theater.
Thanks to a scholarship, Tatjana graduated from the Höhere Fachschule für Zeitgenössischen und Urbanen Bühnentanz in Zurich in 2019. Her work reflects social discourses and her approach to dance through community-building dances, such as hip-hop, house or breaking in a contemporary stage context. She is co-founder of the collectives Zookunft.Project and Merge Dance Collective.
Her last co-choreography “to be found” premiered at Tanz im August in 2022.
As a dance educator, her focus is on the fun and curiosity of movement. She sees this as the key to authenticity in dance. Through various basic steps and freestyle concepts, she wants to pass on an ease and freedom in the body to move naturally and freely. Housedance, Breaking, HipHop and contemporary elements significantly shape her dance and thus also her teaching.
