Eray entered the world of dance with the urban styles HipHop, House and Dancehall. As a teenager, he was intensively taught and coached in dance at the Academy stage art school for youth for the first time. Here he met his dance teacher Stella Caric and followed her into the new founded dance studio motion*s where he was able to keep training intensively in a multitude of dance styles. Various dancers, artists and music genres inspired him more and more to learn about dance, and he decided to be a dancer.
In 2013 he was accepted at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen for the Bachelor Degree in Dance. In the four-year study, Eray focused on learning and developing his modern and ballet technique.
Eray also known as “Ray Melody” discovered his passion for Voguing in 2014 and has since been active in the so-called Ballroomscene. From 2014 to 2019 he was a member of the House of Melody – the first German Voguing House. He is known for the BQ Vogue Fem category, which he interprets hyperfeminine, soft and graceful.
After successfully completing his studies, Eray worked in the 2017/18 season in the dance company “Folkwang Tanzstudio”. In addition, he danced in pieces by renowned choreographers such as Jérôme Bel, Mark Sieczkarek and Rainer Behr.
He has done commercial work with companies such as Acer, adidas and Schwarzkopf, he performed live on stage with international acts such as Cakes Da Killa, TT The Artist and Barbara Tucker. Today, he collaborates with the Düsseldorf choreographer Ben J. Riepe and choreographs for pop singer Matthew Wood.
